A Traveler’s Guide to Fall Across America

September 8, 20194 min read

ROAD TRIP! (A virtual one, anyway).  Here are just a few of the many beautiful and unique fall destinations, the U.S has to offer!

Colorado Springs, Colorado

What To Do:  Take a bike ride to Pike’s Peak to see the gorgeous array of the changing colors over the great Colorado landscape!

Salem, Massachusetts

What To Do:  History buffs – this one’s for you.  While in Salem, you can take part in one of the many guided tours centered around the infamous Salem Witch trials.  And for “all things spooky” lovers, you can opt for a haunted one!

Woodstock, Vermont

What To Do:  Peanut butter is to Jelly, as Fall is to bed and Breakfasts and in Woodstock VT, that bed and breakfast is the Woodstock Inn and Resort.  The inn is a renovated Colonial and is situated right in the middle of town, where you can get a good look at everything Woodstock has to offer!

Missoula, Montana

What To Do:  Stop by for a piping hot drink at Butterfly Herbs coffee/tea shop in downtown Missoula!  It’s the oldest espresso place in Missoula and is also stocked up top to bottom with books, hand made jewelry and more!

Leavenworth, Washington

What To Do:  For all my adventure seekers out there, Leavenworth WA is a must this fall!  During October you can fly 200 ft in the air at Leavenworth Ziplines.  With rock climbing, horseback riding, hiking and more, you definetley won’t be bored in Leavenworth.

Petoskey, Michigan

What To Do:  You can’t visit Petoskey without driving down the famous, Tunnel of Trees.  It is listed among the most scenic routes in the country and does not disappoint, especially when the autumn leaves begin to fall.

Chattanooga, Tennessee

What To Do:  Do you like being scared? Well, at Ruby Falls Haunted Cavern in Chattanooga you’re in for a real treat (or I guess in this case a trick!).  This haunted house was named one of the top ten haunted houses in the country, a must see for any die hard horse fans.

Bar Harbor, Maine

What To Do:  Some of us like to soak up the Autumn air with leisurely walk, and others with an intense run! For those of you who opt for the latter, Bar Harbor hosts the Mount Desert Island Marathon every fall and it is considered one of the most scenic marathons in the country.

Branson, Missouri

If you’re looking for a breathtaking view, head to Branson Missouri, specifically Top of the Rock.  From there you can catch sight of the beautiful Ozark Mountains and Table Rock Lake.

Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania

What To Do: During the first three weekends of October, Jim Thorpe hosts their Fall Foliage Celebration downtown, featuring many local vendors and specialties!

Ya, this is what sweater weather dreams are made of.

Happy Fall!
