A popular form of releasing new music as of late is through first premiering it on Beats 1 Radio. Artists ranging from Drake to Travis Scott and Frank Ocean have done it, and now so has Kali Uchis. The single premiered on Beats 1 Radio with Zane Lowe on Apple Music as a World Record. This episode of the radio show also included an interview with Uchis after premiering her song, where she spoke on her debut album and some of the features on it, one being the Gorillaz. She also mentioned working with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker on a track that will be coming.

The song features the 19-year-old U.K. artist Jorja Smith, who has yet to release an album herself but her latest project is Project 11 (2016), and her newest single “Beautiful Little Fools” (2017) is a feminist-themed song where she sings about how girls are destined to be perceived as “beautiful little fools born to be adored.”

When describing Smith during her interview on Beats 1, Uchis said what she’s doing is “refreshing, and its’ new, and it’s different.”

You can listen to the track now.
