Rising Pop singer Tash releases vintage video for new single ‘The Signs’

August 26, 20194 min read

Pop’s new rising sensation Tash has released her latest soulful track titled ‘The Signs.‘ At just 17 years old, she has already begun to garner a lot of attention, after generating 80 million steams for her music with Facebook and Facebook Sound Collection and seen over 12 million views of her content across all her social media platforms. She has found herself featured on several coveted playlists across the likes of Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music. Furthermore, she has sold out numerous shows including performances at Soho House NYC, Sayers Club Los Angeles, and Peppermint Club.

Tash was discovered via Instagram. After performing at her annual school talent show, a peer-recommended her to her father who was one of the co-founders of an independent label (Hit Makers Entertainment) looking for artists to sign, the other co-founder was none other than Mark Feist who just so happens to be one of the most successful producers in the industry having worked with the likes of Destiny’s Child, Beyonce and Ariana Grande. He reached out to her after being shown her Instagram and offered her a record deal, a few weeks later.

Since releasing her EP Volume 1 back in July, the singer has been working hard behind the scenes to put out some new music, and with a staggering 54K followers on Instagram, it is clear that she is steadily building up a loyal fanbase, who are likely more than happy to watch her latest video.

The Signs is featured on her EP and is a song about acknowledging the signs life throws our way that we tend to ignore. In the track the 17-year-old seems to be making a plea to the universe to allow her to savor her happiness for a while longer, she takes note of the fact that she is ‘not a four-leaf clover’  so experiencing bad things is inevitable, she almost seems to be looking for guidance in terms of trusting her intuitions and believing the signs that have been presented to her.

The soulful lyrics are accompanied by an aesthetically vintage video which sees her against the backdrop of a relaxing cruise around the city, using VHS frames and subtle animation the singer creates a scenery that feels somewhat nostalgic. “We all wanted a visual that felt more like a vibe with a classic 80s flare,” said Tash.

Making songs that reflect her real-life experiences is very important to her. Speaking to Hollywood Life, she said:

“When I write, 99 percent of the time I draw from personal experience or my own vivid imagination. I’ve written a lot about romance (even though I’ve never had a relationship), but also about feeling out of place, self-conscious, awkward and misunderstood – a few emotions that I cycle through a lot. The more vulnerable you are with your music, the better. I actually can’t wait to have my heart broken someday, I’ll finally have some real relationship drama to write about.”

Tash may be a rising star but it is clear that she has a bright future ahead of her and we are so excited to see what is next in store for her!

Volume 1 is available for downloading and streaming across all digital media platforms worldwide. “The Signs” music video is available for viewing on YouTube. To keep up with Tash, make sure to follow her on Instagram
