Music festivals seem to be taking over your Instagram feed the minute the weather changes. You know the posts: the boho styles, the somehow gorgeous food, the jealousy you feel if you aren’t there. Many festivals also include art exhibits in addition to the incredible concert! Now imagine all of this, surrounded by a gorgeous natural landscape. Think about it; instead of the desert, there’s an amazing wildlife park to explore.
Karoondinha, meaning land of shining waters (named by the Seneca tribe), is a new music festival being held at Penn’s Cave & Wildlife Park. Not only will it provide the expected aspects of an outdoor summer music festival (attendees in likely stunning attire, amazing food, amazing musicians, etc.), but its location will serve as an added bonus. Penn’s Cave is home to various gorgeous wild animals (mountain lions, bison, elk, etc.) and countless breathtaking sites (including ancient water caves!). Because of its location, Karoondinha promotes the importance of natural connections by offering tours of the water caves and wildlife.
Natural beauty is not Karoondinha’s only unique hand, however. In addition to specialty wildlife and water cave tours, the festival will also feature “meditation, yoga, fitness and more” as well as “professional-level dance workshops” led by “regional and national dancers”. Don’t forget the featured art! The weekend promises to be an epic experience judging by the diversity of activities and opportunities. From the description alone it seems too good to be true!
“Welcome to a place like no other, a place that reminds you of the important things in life, maybe over-looked, dimmed or forgotten. A place where music and nature come together to help you reconnect to your own inner brightness. An authentic place to connect with yourself and others,” says the K-Ha official site (when logging on to the desktop site, the fest’s Spotify playlist plays songs by the featured musicians attending; even the website is attention-grabbing). Karoondinha runs from July 21st to the 23rd. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind festival! For more information and planning, visit the official site here!
