5 Must Read Supernatural Books for Fall

September 2, 20185 min read

Leaves blowing around outside your window. Hazy skies of purple and pink. Smiling pumpkins sitting out on front porches and the smell of new beginnings and crisp air. It’s fall.

Now, aside from watching Halloween movies and sipping pumpkin spice lattes, the fall time can be especially perfect for climbing back into bed and cozying up with a good book. There’s something about that cool air and that autumn smell that just makes reading ten times more appealing.

Here are five absolute fantasy must-reads for the fall season – they just so happen to be a few of my favorites!

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Nora Grey is your average teenager in high school trying to sort out her life and figure out the future. When she gets seated next to mysterious boy Patch Cipriano in biology class, her life takes a different turn entirely. Nora is attracted to Patch in a way she cannot describe – despite the bad vibes she gets from him. Patch is dangerous, and he’s hiding something – will Nora allow herself to go any further with Patch or will she shy away from him and his secrets?

Fun fact: Becca Fitzpatrick has recently announced that Hush, Hush is officially becoming a movie, directed by Kel Cyrus – former The Vampire Diaries producer.

Life’s A Witch by Brittany Geragotelis

It doesn’t matter if Hadley Bishop comes from a long line of well-known Salem Witches: she uses her magic to aid her with her popular-girl status in high school and other frivolous things such as removing bags from underneath her eyes and maintaining her shiny hair. When Hadley’s parents go missing as a result of evil witches, her entire world is turned upside down and she is snapped back to reality. Hadley goes on a mission to destroy the wicked witches who stole her parents from her. In the process, she learns to better execute the magic within her with the help of her new witchy friends.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

When Bella Swan moves to the small and assumingly boring town of Forks, Washington, she expects nothing out of the extraordinary to happen to her. That is until she meets the intriguing and elusive Edward Cullen who treats her oddly from the very beginning of their meeting. Through twists and turns, slowly but surely, Bella gets to know Edward and exactly what he is hiding: he’s a vampire. Together, Bella and Edward embark on an epic love story of life and death.

Night World by L.J. Smith

The Night World trilogy focuses on a world of supernatural creatures that live in the world of humans. This world is governed strictly by the idea that no human should know about them let alone develop feelings and fall in love with them. From vampires to fallen angels to witches, there’s someone out there for everyone, and that someone doesn’t care if he or she is breaking the rules.

The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith

The Vampire Diaries stars high school girl Elena Gilbert who has just lost her parents in a tragic car crash. As she tries to adjust to her new life, she meets new student Stefan Salvatore whom begins falling for. Despite his secretive older brother Damon Salvatore, Elena believes that Stefan is exactly what she needs in her life. Although, she has yet to discover his secret: he is a vampire.
