As social media continues to rise well into 2017, it is inevitable to see certain stars ride the wave to the top — let’s focus on a particular icon, DJ Khaled. For those who don’t know him, perhaps you’ve heard his 3x Platinum song “All I Do Is Win” which debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2010. Or maybe you know him as the guy who shouts his name or the phrase “Another one” in the beginning of all your favorite songs, like “I Got the Keys” or “For Free” in the past year.
DJ Khaled is not one to stray away from the spotlight, as he constantly snapchats his life. In fact, he even snapchatted his wife giving birth. In recent years, Khaled has gained recognition for his famous “Keys to Success,” guidelines to becoming successful. To many, his persona was entertaining for a while until they decided they had enough.
The truth is: we need more men like DJ Khaled in the world.
While he might be known for his loud and outgoing personality, he has been nothing but optimistic since his debut in the public eye, and always is one to spread positive vibes. These characteristics help make DJ Khaled an amazing father. For those who don’t know, he and his fiancee Nicole Tuck welcomed their son Asahd (arabic for ‘lion’) in October 2016. Khaled’s Instagram is filled with posts of his son, and Asahd is even featured as the cover art for his latest single, “Shining.”
Naturally, Asahd has his own Instagram account where he posts about his adventures as a child and of course, his love for his father.
Everyone has the right to spread love. If DJ Khaled wants to express his love for his son all over his Instagram, let him. So far, his love has not slowed down, and I sure hope he does not give in to the hater any time soon.
People don’t seem to know very much about him and, as a result, judge him on the wrong things. They would rather focus on how many times a day he posts on social media than acknowledge the content of his posts. They would rather make jokes about his size than recognize his dramatic weight loss. We see this blind hatred throughout Hollywood, mostly with women and minorities. Regardless, some will continue to judge, and this is in no way meant to belittle the lifestyles of others, but rather put the spotlight on someone who is doing everything right. It fills my heart with happiness to see a man treat his son with so much unconditional care. What we can do now is support the Tuck-Khaled family and look forward to Asahd growing up knowing he has parents who love him endlessly, something he will be extremely grateful for later on.
