Fall is coming which means one thing: Halloween!
Summer is slowly starting to end and one of the best seasons of the year is approaching fast. It’s slowly getting colder and it’s finally time to wrap up in blankets and curl up in bed. To get you ready here are four of my favourite horror movies you need to put on your agenda this fall.
Don’t Breathe (2016)
This suspense-filled movie will keep you on the edge of your seat. Don’t Breathe is an immensely unpredictable movie and leaves the audience uneasy, nervous about what’ll happen next. The film follows three teens who attempt to rob a blind man’s house and things go horribly wrong. It gives you a really scary insight to what life can be like as a teen and the desperations of growing up, with a tense twist.
A Quiet Place (2018)
If you love a movie about survival and protecting your loved ones no matter how hard it gets then you need to watch this. A Quiet Place is an apocalyptic film where any noise will attract the attention of a terrifying creature, and ultimately lead to death. The cast in this movie is incredible, with Millicent Simmonds bringing authenticity to the role as a deaf actress. This movie will really get you into the scary vibes for Halloween.
Hush (2016)
Hush is about a deaf woman who lives on her own, and one day is visited by a man, who attempts to kill her. What makes this movie good to watch is the music, which creates a real feeling of resilience. The protagonist teaches a good lesson of perseverance, regardless of how dire the situation seems. It also keeps the audience in a tense mindset throughout the whole movie.
Jeepers Creepers (2001)
This movie has been around for a long time and even if you have already watched it, it’s a good one revisit this fall. If you love a good mystery thriller then this’ll be perfect for you. The 17-year-old movie is about two people who make a horrific discovery, leading to their routine journey home becoming a race for their lives. This film has stood the test of time, and remains a classic, full of drama and a sense of unease, and it’s the one to watch this Halloween.
So there you have it; four of the best horror movies to really start getting you in the feel for this season. There are so many amazing horror movies around, and with Halloween fast approaching, there’s no better time to get into the best of them. What you waiting for? Grab some popcorn and get watching!
