We Have to Talk About this Disneyland Minecraft Server

January 2, 20215 min read

As a Southern California-native, I love Disneyland. Like many, I have nothing but fond memories of the park and love going whenever possible. Since the pandemic, of course, Disneyland Anaheim has been shut down and it’s unclear when the park is slated to open back up.

Enter: the lovely Internet. Specifically, TikTok. User @mousekegamer uploaded a video on August 28, 2020, depicting a full-scale Disneyland Minecraft server. The video, which now has over 1.3 million views, almost seems too good to be true. Naturally, I had to check it out. For fans of Disneyland and even for those who have never been, this server is a must in 2021.

The Mouse is in the Details

Mousekegamer’s server, known as ImagineFun.net is an immersive, full-scale experience. The ImagineFun team captured the details and intricacies of Disneyland IRL, which is beyond impressive. For the past 2 years, the server has been in development, putting together over 20 working rides and attractions, with more still to come. To date, this Minecraft server is the most detailed and ambitiously created Disneyland server out there and it’s gained notoriety for good reason.

From Pirates of the Caribbean to the Haunted Mansion, players can access some of Disneyland Anaheim’s most famous rides, with matching audio to go along with it. It’s truly an innovative and exciting alternative to being at the park and there are hours of fun to be had. Every month, there are expansions to the park and other Easter eggs to explore. Nightly, there are fireworks shows and other fun activities to participate in, including pin trading and souvenir buying. Changing with the seasons, there’s always something new to log onto throughout the year. The server aims to capture the full essence of Disneyland and does so, even in the subtlest of ways. Not to mention, there’s an entire online community dedicated to playing on the server, including virtual tour guides and cast members to make the experience more immersive.

Going to a theme park right now, at least in Southern California, is unimaginable. However, playing Minecraft at home is very much accessible. Combining the two concepts in a safe, comfortable environment serves to improve what is otherwise a dreary situation. ImagineFun allows players to tap into their childlike-side, calling to their fond memories of pre-pandemic days or allowing them to form new ones online.

What 2021 has in Store

As previously mentioned, the server is constantly changing and expanding. ImagineFun is absolutely worth your time in 2021 as a way to relax and try something completely unique to the Internet. It’s unclear at the moment exactly what rides are going to be installed on the server. However, if 2020 has shown us anything, it’s that ImagineFun is full of surprises. From Cars Land to Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, the server is only continuing to expand in big ways. As of New Years’, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride is their newest addition.

There’s never been a more fun time to play Minecraft. Coupled with the atmosphere and fun of Disneyland? ImagineFun is a real winner.
