In the past week, A$AP Ferg released 4 new songs to fans when he brought back #TrapLordTuesday on June 13th, in preparations for his new album Still Striving. He first released the song “Nia Long,” produced by HighDefRazjah, and is one that fans have been waiting for since 2015 when Ferg first played it live during a concert in Boston. That same morning, along with ‘Nia Long,’ Ferg also shared the song featuring Lil Yachty “Aw Yea,” produced by Maaly Raw. Later in the day, as per fans’ requests after tweeting out if he should drop another song, Ferg released another track called “Furious Ferg,” produced by Tommy Lovee. The last song “Plain Jane” was also later released in the later night by tweeting out “You thought I was done” with a link to the song as he did for the rest.

This Tuesday, June 20th, Trap Lord Tuesday was back again with another new song “Tango,” produced by Frankie P and featuring Kanobby. The track premiered as Zane Lowe’s “World Record” on Beats 1 Radio Tuesday morning. During the show, Ferg gave an interview speaking on the new track and his upcoming mixtape Still Striving.
“Tango” is a song that has a deeper meaning just from the title alone. Ferg says it’s about “dancing around with words — you can’t be dancing around with your words no more, you gotta give it straight.” He and Lowe also mentioned the importance of being “transparent” as an artist for the fans in this day and age because of how much we guard ourselves up.
Another thing Ferg mentioned was that the first single from Still Striving, “East Coast,” featuring Remy Ma, has a remix that will be coming out soon. Ferg roll-called a star-studded list of names that will be on the remix it during the interview. “East Coast” alone will include the likes of Rick Ross, French Montana, A$AP Rocky, Busta Rhymes, Killa Cam’Ron, Snoop Dogg, and will feature a new verse from himself and is currently being mixed.
The mixtape Still Striving is set to be released in early August.
All songs were released on SoundCloud and you can listen to them now.
