During the Spring/Summer 2019 edition of the Paris Fashion Week, Maison Georges Hobeika showcased its brand-new collection. For this collection, designer Georges Hobeika drew his inspiration from the Château De Versaille and the passionate myth of the famous Marie-Antoinette.
Who is Georges Hobeika?
With as an elegant and extremely divine feminine brand, the Lebanese fashion designer is known in the industry for swinging between haute couture, bridal, and ready-to-wear collections, which makes his style pretty versatile. In January 2017, the house became a guest member of the prestigious La Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture.
The brand has been around for more than a decade and knows how to impress its public at each fashion show.
Feedback on the show:
Located at the “Théâtre National Chaillot,” the scenery could not be better. A direct view of the Eiffel Tower added to the magical and surreal vibe of the haute couture brand. Each dress was a blast of colours with features of frills, sparkles and most importantly, sparkles. Its dresses shone a light on the incredeble keen sense of details of the fashion designer.
For 25 minutes, our eyes could not help but have stars in them, as our childhood princess-like dream dresses marched by. The dresses were matched to each model with diligence, fitting them like heaven and making us wonder if they were not made to wear them. The flowing frills flew as they walked in perfect synchrony, embracing the moving bodies of the models, it all fitted in place.
As to the grand finale of the show, nothing could describe it better than “perfection lies in details,” which are the words of none other than Goerges Hobeika himself. The grand finale was an amazingly sparkly wedding dress, made with extreme delicacy and great detailing. A mesmerising long veil, with lots of glitter there to top it all off. It was an incredible dress to perfectly end the show.
