Some three years after the series finale, ‘Psych’ is back with a two hour special planned to air on USA Network sometime this December.
For those who have never watched the show before, ‘Psych’ is about two best friends — Shawn and Gus, who work as fake psychics that dapple in helping out the Santa Barbara Police Department with putting the criminals behind bars. The two detectives both have their own eccentric characteristics, which is partly what makes the show entertaining and compelling. ‘Psych’ is a show that knows how to get the viewers laughing while making them fall head over heels for each and every character.
This comedy is centered around the lives of goofy detectives aired in 2006 and went off the air in 2014 after eight whole seasons.
This December, the creator of the show Steve Franks and main actor, James Roday are working together to bring the reboot 2-hour special to the TV screen.
All the main characters of the show will be returning to film the movie. The characters include James Roday, Dule Hill, Maggie Lawson, Kirsten Nelson, Timothy Omundson and Corbin Bernsen. Although Timothy Omundson is set to only appear in one scene due to a stroke that occurred before production began, the producers are still working out the logistics of the movie.
Roday stated, “I think we found the best way possible to keep Lassiter very much a part of what we do, set him up to succeed in the future, and still give all of our Psych-Os an opportunity to see that ridiculously handsome mug of his.”
In the movie, the one-half of the dynamic duo, Gus, is said to still be looking for romance and finds it in a woman named Selene. Selene is portrayed by Dule Hills’ real life fiancee, Jazmyn Simon.

The cast of ‘Psych’ also attended the San Diego Comic Con recently and held a panel on the upcoming reboot. While parts of information about the movie are still being kept under wraps for now, lots of fans along with the stars, are excited for ‘Psych’s’ return.
