For the few of you who weren’t up all night waiting for its launch, Robyn Rihanna Fenty really did THAT with her new beauty line, Fenty Beauty. She wanted to create a line that targets women of all skin tones and types, explaining: “I wanted things that I love. Then I also wanted things that girls of all skin tones could fall in love with.” Rihanna filled in the gap by developing 40 hues of foundations and 30 “match stix” concealers + shimmers.

The 2017 Fenty Beauty collection is cruelty-free. Additionally, it is exclusive economically among the high-end brands, as you don’t have to worry about stretching your dollar bill.

For one, the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation packaging is to die for. It’s so clean and slick — we absolutely love it. The Match Stix Matte Skinstick is cute, especially if you get the whole range. They stick together and create a honeycomb-like design — amaze-balls! Rihanna really thought this whole thing through.

Match Stix Skinstick

Let’s talk about the skinsticks. There are two types of skinsticks — shimmer and matte edition. The skinsticks can be used as a concealer or contour, and you can also use it as a highlighter. I’d personally get three of these (the ones with the trio pack): one in my concealer shade, a dark brown contour and a highlighter. Also, if you’re creative, you can use the match stix as a shimmery blush, too. In fact, it can be your eyeshadow finishing.

For me, the match stix are multipurpose — you can play around with them as you please due to the variation of colours and them being satisfyingly blendable. This is definitely a fire-sale for a premium quality match stick amongst the high-end brands, and the quality is far from disappointing. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity — grab them before they’re out of stock! Plus, they’re magnetic — they stick together (tested and approved), which happens to be super accessible for when you’re in a hurry.

Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter

The Killawatt is hella pigmented when applied after layering the matte foundation; the best way to get the ultra-pigmentation is by spritzing your facial spray just before applying the highlighter! It radiates a celestial glow, abodes of the gods. It’s one of her most-hyped product for this collection, alongside Mean Money & Hu$tla Baby Highlighter — it is a personal favourite!

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Foundation

Before you choose your colour, it is important that you first get your undertones right, and then go for the shades. This product has five types of undertones: cool, neutral, warm, neutral olive and warm peach, each made available in 40 shades. It’s a medium to full coverage, and it oxidizes pretty fast — in just 10 minutes you are able to see the foundation set in. Since it’s matte, the colour will turn slightly darker than the initial look, so test it out with the help of your Sephora beautician!

The first impression

It feels like wearing your own skin, only better. It is really lightweight, and I personally love it, because I do not like the feeling of something heavy sitting on my face — some foundation does that to me, and it’s uncomfortable and leaves me feeling as though my skin is suffocating — so this one is a GO for me.

Due to its weightless foundation, some spots are visible. (I like it that way. If you’re the type who’s into something more natural looking, this is it.) But don’t worry, I tried putting on a second layer, and amazingly, it did not look patchy, and it actually did cover up my flaws, so it’s all GOOD, boys and girls.

I think Rihanna might put other cosmetic brands out of business, because the foundation not only comes in different shades (forty shades to be exact — that’s more than any brand has ever made), it also caters for different undertones.

A GENIUS, I TELL YOU. RIRI, YOU DID GREAT SWEETIE. IM CRYING MY EYEBALLS OUT, CAUSE FINALLY, I HAVE A SHADE OF MY OWN, AND I DON’T HAVE TO MIX TWO FOUNDATIONS. MY BANK ACCOUNT IS SAVED. THANK YOU, GODDESS.

There has been some slander on Twitter, because it appears that there are more than 10 fair foundations, and it feels like Rihanna is just feigning on for more darker shades. But the reality is that Fenty is meant for everyone — it is to cater those who are Asian, Mediterranean, Latino, Hispanic, Mid-Eastern and others. Rihanna also produced shades for the albino people so that they don’t feel left out. And again, although they have similar shades, each shade has a different undertone. There are more than 10 fair shades with different undertones. Different. Undertones.

Psst! Rumour has it that they might launch some more shades SOON! So stay tuned!

Is the Glass Bomb Universal Liminizer lip gloss worth it?

Well, it is okay — nothing great really. The texture is too heavy and sticky, but it works well as an overcoating. Brushes, on the other hand, are soft and blendable. They even have a precision make-up sponge, which is easy to work with, and there are even three portable mini brushes you can conveniently stuff in your bag! Adorable. Invisimatte Blotting Powder is made for being photo-ready, and it is said to be an instantly filtered look (and it’s magnetic too!). Fenty Beauty has its own primer, as well as invisimatte Blotting Paper, to keep your make-up in tact!

Don’t miss out on the Fenty goods, cause they are definitely worth the hype. So what are you waiting for?

Remember, you’re not a make up hoarder, you’re helping the economy!
