While taking a look at my makeup collection the other day, I realized that a lot of the beauty brands I own are actually already cruelty-free. Turns out, these are some of the best cosmetic cruelty-free brands you can come across, and I had just happened to have them because I liked them so much. I was inspired to compile a list of 15 incredible, 100% cruelty-free brands you can get your hands on right now. I hope it motivates you to opt for cruelty-free makeup too (it’s easier than you think)!
1. Kat Von D Beauty
Kat Von D created her own makeup empire when she launched her first cosmetics brand. The famous tattoo artist/beauty innovator even sketches her own artwork on her packaging. KVD Beauty ranges from contour kits to lipsticks and can be found at Sephora.
2. Anastasia Beverly Hills
Although Anastasia Beverly Hills started off with eyebrow products, the founder and her daughter, Norvina, have added lipsticks, palettes, and single eyeshadows that the beauty community gazes over. You can find ABH at Sephora and Ulta.
3. Marc Jacobs Beauty
Marc Jacobs is a well-known designer whose cosmetic line is far from ordinary. The luxurious and cruelty-free brand creates foundations, eyeshadows, and everything in between. It’s a pretty good investment if you ask me. You can find Marc Jacobs Beauty at Sephora.
4. theBalm Cosmetics
I don’t know why people don’t talk about theBalm cosmetics more! They have amazing quality at affordable prices (not drugstore though). The brand also has this adorable 50’s retro theme to their products which is always a plus. You can find theBalm at Kohl’s.
5. PUR Cosmetics
PUR Cosmetics is another brand that isn’t raved about as much as it should. I see them on my Instagram feed every now and then, but no one ever really hypes them up besides that. Give them a try (they are definitely worth it).
6. Cargo Cosmetics
I first received Cargo Cosmetics as a gift for my birthday. I looked at the packaging and literally thought to myself “wow this looks like an Avon brand.” Thankfully, I was really wrong, because (no disrespect to Avon) but Cargo’s shadows truly impressed me. They are super creamy, blendable, and very, very pigmented. Definitely a top brand to check out.
7. Milani Cosmetics
*Kanye Voice* MILANI IS ONE OF THE BEST DRUGSTORE BRANDS OF ALL TIME. OF ALL TIME. Milani has truly hit every single product out of the water! From their liquid lipsticks to their blushes, and even their foundation, you absolutely are missing out on something big. Please do yourself a favor a give them a look (you won’t regret it).
8. Sonia Kashuk
Sonia Kashuk is one of the more boujee products that you can find at your local Target. Her brushes and concealer kits are high-end comparable, but obviously much more affordable. A definite steal, especially because they are cruelty-free!
9. wetnwild Beauty
Ah, wetnwild is a top favorite of mine. In fact, the very first lipstick I bought was Spotlight Red from their matte collection, and I still pick it up every now and then! They have recently stepped it up when it comes to trends, so you can style in style while helping some cute animals. Honestly, wetnwild can’t do any wrong in my opinion.
10. Jordana Cosmetics
Jordana can be found at your local dollar store. Yes, your local dollar store. Need I say more? Their lipsticks and lip liners are a must, and you’ll be saving so much money you’ll be able to splurge on some vegan ice-cream!
11. Makeup Geek
Some of the earliest YouTube tutorials I watched were from MakeupGeek‘s channel. They just made makeup look so easy. Their makeup is loved by many and for good reasons. MUG’s eyeshadows are said to be some of the best quality for their price. Check them out ASAP!
12. Colourpop Cosmetics
Colourpop cosmetics is absolutely killing it. They release little campaigns here and there that are soooo aesthetically pleasing to the eye you will be convinced you need every single one. I mean just look at those incredible color schemes.
13. Dose of Colors
I haven’t tried Dose of Colors yet but their lipsticks are top-notch. Though they are a little bit on the pricey side, they’ll definitely last you longer than a drugstore product.
14. Melt Cosmetics
Famous for their dark vibes and colors, Melt Cosmetics is still one of my favorite brands. Okay, I might be a little biased because the founder, Lora Arellano is Mexican, BUT their products are so good! I promise you will be in LOVE!
15. SUVA Beauty
Do you see those incredible colors? SUVA Beauty is absolutely EVERYTHING! It was introduced to me a little while ago. I saw their UV hydra liners and was blown away at the creativity the brand carries. I always peep their Instagram for color inspiration… please do yourself the favor and check them out.
While cruelty-free makeup can still be hard to find (especially when you cannot find a replacement for an incredible product), I think that over the years, more and cruelty-free brands have been popping up. As I’m sure you saw for yourself, all of these brands have amazing colors and palettes, meaning you won’t have to sacrifice style to be a friend to the animals.
