Upcoming K-Pop Girl Group Loona Share LGBT-friendly Music Video

January 5, 20182 min read

2017 was a year full of flourishing K-pop girls groups releasing their music to the world. From Mamamoo to Red Velvet and consistent #1 albums, they couldn’t be stopped. Moving on to 2018, more girl groups are still on the rise.

Since October 2016, girl group Loona have been slowly revealing their members through single album releases. The 18-month long project was started by record label company Blockberry Creative. They also announced that the group would debut as a whole in 2018. This includes a debut album featuring all 12 members.

An EP titled Mix & Match had already debuted in the top 10 on Billboard’s US World Album chart. It was followed up by a rerelease, Max & Match, two months later and entered the same chart at #11.

Loona’s December Girl of the Month & 10th member Chuu has released the MV for “Heart Attack,” the title track of her pre-debut single album.

The upcoming group just recently released a music video for a song entitled ‘Heart Attack’ featuring newly revealed 10th member Chuu. It features the member possessing a girl crush for member Yves who was the 9th member revealed from the group. It shows her desire to be loved by Yves, as shown with the translated lyrics “my heart that wants to be like you gets colored, filled with you”.

Additional lyrics include:

It’s getting clearer
I’ll give you all my heart, take my heart
Surely we’re destiny
It shines fully tonight
This must be what sweet addiction is, darling

The music video also makes references to historical and fictional figures. These include past artists work from Rene Margritte to Hans Christian Andersen’s short story “The Little Match Girl”, to novel “Aphrodite Meets Death” by John Appleby.
