“My heart, prayers and deepest condolences are with the victims of the Manchester Attack and their loved ones,” Ariana Grande writes in a letter posted to her Twitter account. Four days after the horrific events that unfolded at Manchester Arena, Grande has finally spoken out.
She was photographed arriving in Boca Raton the day following the bombing, but this is the first we have heard directly from Grande about the attack.
She opens her letter by offering love: to her fans as well as the victims and their families. She expresses her sympathy and offers her support in any way she can.
“There is nothing I or anyone can do to take away the pain you are feeling or to make this better. However, I extend my hand and heart and everything I can possibly give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way.”
Her tone the shifts to one not of sadness, but of empowerment. She applauds her fans on how they have handled the attack on social media and out in the world.
“The compassion, kindness, love, strength, and oneness that you’be shown one another this past week is the exact opposite of the heinous intentions it must take to pull off something as evil as what happened Monday.”
She then goes on to condemn the attack. She mentions the nature of the crime and how she will not be responding back with hate. Grande also writes that the attack will not hold her back from continuing to perform and see her fans, a conformation that she will continue on with the Dangerous Women Tour.
“We will not quit or operate in fear. We will not let this divide us. We won’t let hate win”
She also announces a benefit concert, to be held in Manchester, to raise money and awareness for the victims and their families. No specific details about the concert have been released yet.
