Apollo Was Correct

July 7, 20172 min read

Apollo was a God in Mount Olympus.

He knew how the heavens functioned.

He knew how the Gods and Goddesses would be angered.

He knew how the world would be frightened.

He knew how everything worked.

Apollo told me so many things

that a part of me, thought he was lying.

I wished he was lying.

I asked him what would happen if a mortal falls in love with a God.

I asked him what would happen if the God doesn’t love them back.

He gave me a knowing look and I wished he was lying again.

I tried to hide the pain on my face that I knew was going to appear with the answer.

Apollo told me that if a mortal loved a God, that they would never remain pure again.

They would never remain happy again.

He told me when a mortal loves a divine being, they will be left burned and broken and torn apart.

He told me when a mortal loves a powerful being, they shall never remain beautiful again.

He wasn’t lying.

Apollo was correct.

I was a mortal who loved a God and they left me in pain.

I was a mortal who loved a divine being and they left me burned.

I was a mortal who loved a powerful being and they left me repulsive.

He wasn’t lying.

Apollo was correct.

You left me and the only memories you let me keep were the scars on my heart and soul.

I touched you and I loved you.

You touched me and ruined me.

I said I loved you and you lied to me.

You said you loved me and you broke me.

You left me ruined enough to never be with another again.

I should’ve listened to Apollo before because he wasn’t lying.
