Niall Horan has left fans pleasantly shocked with his new single, Slow Hands. Horan announced his second single earlier this week, leaving fans to speculate on what to expect from the suggestive title. Having released This Town last September, the fans expected something alike. To their surprise, Slow Hands turned out to be a sexy single with a delightful beat.

Despite the unexpected, heartbreaking hit one direction fans took in May of 2015, after Zayn Malik left the band, Harry, Niall, Liam, and Louis continued to deliver joy to their determined fanbase. On July 31st, the band released a new single, Drag me Down, rapidly obtaining #1 in on iTunes in 90 countries and crashed Vevo on YouTube. August, however, was a tearing moment for the fans and the band itself as they announced they were taking a break from One Direction after their current tour. Liam, Harry, Louis, and Niall wanted to take hiatus to work on projects of their own but promised to be back. Despite the announcement, One Direction continued to perform on tour, ending in October 2015. The band released a second single, from their upcoming album, on October 16, titled Perfect, giving the fans another reason to adore them.
In November 6, 2015, the English-Irish boy band swept fans off their feet with the release of History, which was later made into a single. Following the release of History, the band released their fifth album, and first without Malik; Made in the A.M was released the 13th of November. The album surpasses expectations and offered a good variety for all tastes of music. The official History music video, as the rest of the album, enamored the fans and gave them one last thing to hold into after the departure as One Direction. The music video showed several images of the band throughout the years and ended the band members walking in different directions, which left fans with teary eyes.

The fans started 2016 with Zayn’s single Pillowtalk. Both the song and the mesmerizing music video caused a wave of euphoria among the fans. Months later, Malik lifted spirits with the release of his first solo album, Mind of Mine.
On April of 2016, Liam Payne featured a song with Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J, titled You. Liam also remained active on social media, assuring fans he was working on new music after he signed with Capitol Records in July.
Harry Styles revived fans with his photoshoot for Another Man Magazine in September 2016. The majestic photoshoot gave the fans something to fuss over. Days later after Styles’ photos spread, Niall Horan won over the fans’ heart with his single This Town. A few months later, Louis Tomlinson graced everyone with his first single, with Steve Aoki, Just Hold On the 10th of December, which he performed for the first time in The X Factor UK shortly after revealing the passing of his mother.
The attention was focused on Liam Payne as he announced the birth of his son on March 25th. He shared a picture of himself on Instagram holding his newborn, who is now said to be named Bear.
Harry Styles released his debut solo single Sign of Times, in April of this year.The single was highly anticipated by one direction fans. Zayn later released a single the 21st of April, titled Still Got Time, featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR.
Niall Horan caused excitement among the fans as he announced in a Tweet on the first day of the month that he was releasing a second single coming out on May 4th. The excitement did not cease as Styles released a second song, Sweet Creature, on May 2nd. Harry Styles had also announced his solo tour days before.
One Direction Fans have an album from Harry Styles to look forward to, which will be released on May 12th and an upcoming tour. Harry will also make a debut as an actor on Dunkirk, a film about World War II starring Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, and Mark Rylance, which will reach the big screens this July.
2017 is the year for the One Direction fandom. Who knows, maybe Niall will continue to drop heart aching singles on his way to his highly anticipated album. We might hear more from Louis and Liam, perhaps more music or interviews and Zayn is full of surprises. But for now, Harry and Niall are keeping the fire high and burning in the fans’ hearts with new singles, albums, and a tour coming.
