Oh, Lord.
New-Zealand pop singer Lorde is in some hot water after she made a Whitney Houston reference in a recent Instagram post.
The photo featured a bathtub with running water, which the singer captioned “And iiii will always love you.” The line alluded to the late musician’s iconic 1992 song, “I Will Always Love You.”
Instagram users considered Lorde’s post offensive and inappropriate–and it’s easy to understand why.
Houston was found dead back in 2012 after an accidental drowning in her own bathtub. The late singer’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was also found unresponsive three years later due to a similar death.
Many took to Twitter to express their disbelief and outrage over the picture, calling on Lorde to delete it.
Holy shit i thought it was fake… does she realize… @lorde delete it
