Over the weekend, the 30-year-old Twenty One Pilots drummer proposed to his long-time girlfriend, Debby Ryan. He shocked many fans with the exciting news through his latest Instagram post.

25 year-old Ryan was pictured crying in the drummer’s post with her ring and later tweeted that she said yes (after a couple “no ways”). Dun popped the question in New Zealand shortly after the band’s last show of the year. The couple was surrounded by family after Dun flew them in to witness the proposal.

Since 2013, the couple has been off-and-on. Reconciliation rumors were stirred up in 2016 after their previous breakup, and after 2018 Instagram posts, their relationship was confirmed. The two have now been together through Twenty One Pilots’ rise to fame and Ryan’s transition from Disney to Netflix.

Earlier in the year, Ryan received major backlash after starring in Netflix’s controversial Insatiable. Ryan apologized for the problematic themes portrayed in the series but nonetheless received criticism online. But even through discourse, Dun stood by her side and continued to support her. Ryan’s controversy began around the release of the band’s latest album, Trench.

The couple has not given any wedding details yet but is happily engaged. Through controversy and many hair colors, their relationship has proven strong. Despite a few tears, it was a very happy day for the two.
