The Realization

There’s a certain feeling of doubt and discomfort when you realize you like someone. It intensifies when you become aware of the reciprocation of said feelings because you continue to overthink even if the other person is being sincere until you warm up to the idea and feel like everything will be alright.

I was scared
hell,
I was horrified
Even when your eyes
spilled sparkles
of adoration and
sincerity
I knew you
deserved better
than me but
when you grabbed
my hand
interlocked our
fingers and
happily sighed
I was certain
that everything would
be just
fine.
