Hollywood’s Hypocrisy: Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman Call Out James Franco At Women’s March, Fail To Rescind Support For Woody Allen & Roman Polanski

January 23, 20186 min read

The Historic Women’s March 2018 garnered millions of protesters this weekend in memoriam of last years unprecedented response to the Trump Presidency. As always, Hollywood absolutely had to capitalize off of this momentum and sent out their performative feminists to speak on the issues. What’s hypocritical, and the exemplification of this performative “white” feminism, is that many of the women sent out to speak or make appearances, like Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman, actually perpetuate this toxic culture, the same culture which the Women’s March and feminism seeks to destroy. There are a plethora of instances where Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman have been problematic, but let’s focus on their support for well-known “alleged” rapists and pedophiles in the industry since sexual assault was the centralized theme of their speeches.

In my previous article, I wrote about Hollywoods Perfected Craft, which is, what I think, a mockery of feminism and activism in an attempt to appeal to the ever-changing progressive masses. Hollywood wants to pretend it cares about our “pedestrian” issues, or even the issues facing individuals in the Hollywood entity, so they throw around a few tears, a few speeches and voila, you’ve fooled the common folk. This act usually involves sending what seems to be powerful women who embody feminism to participate in these events and convince genuine activists that they are not a part of the Hollywood issues, that they are on the same page as us, and that they understand.

This is what Scarlett Johansson attempted to do at the Los Angeles Women’s March this weekend. In her speech she called out the toxic culture that’s been brewing in Hollywood, she denounced the men recently exposed to be assaulters, and she specifically alluded to James Franco, who in my recent article I discussed was outed for taking advantage of multiple women throughout his career. She stated “I want my pin back” in response to Franco wearing a “Times Up” pin to the Golden Globes Award Show, while at the same time being another face of the same monsters the Times Up movement wants to bring down. This speech, in theory, was perfect except for the fact it was given by Ms. Scarlett Johansson, who has continuously supported Woody Allen, amongst many, many other “mistakes” she’s made throughout her career as an actress.

Woody Allen, is someone who I imagine is the face of the Hollywood assault culture considering he’s been exposed for taking advantage of many children and women, specifically his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow who he had been molested as a child, “allegedly” of course. Johansson, when asked about her support for Allen, she urged people to not jump to conclusions especially when the matter (of Woody Allen molesting his daughter and many others) had not even been taken to court. Her unwavering support of Allen may or may not have to do with the fact she starred in multiple movies directed and written by him, many of those movies which helped her rise to stardom in Tinseltown. Sounds like Scarlett’s got a case of selective memory because I don’t think she remembered exactly HOW bad Woody Allen is.

Onto Natalie Portman, who shared her own harrowing stories of sexual objectification as a child, navigating her way through the in’s and outs of Hollywood. Which is why it makes it so much harder for me to comprehend how she as a woman who knows and understands what it’s like being a child in the limelight and being objectified, she could ever support Roman Polanski, a child rapist who cannot step foot on American soil, as he would be arrested, which shows the extent of Polanski’s actions. For a quick refresher, Roman Polanski has been accused many times of rape of minors and was actually arrested for the sexual assault of a 13-year-old aspiring model to whom he fed quaaludes and then proceeded to rape. He’s done plenty more, and the details are extremely graphic. He, of course, ran away to various different European countries, which prompted many actors and actresses in the industry who had worked with or supported Polanski to sign a petition asking a judge to pardon Roman Polanski and drop his sexual assault charges so that he may return to the US, one of them being Natalie Portman. Natalie Portman supported a rapist, not even someone that “alleged” or whatever bullshit Hollywood throws in to try and lift the burden off of these elites, an actual rapist that would be convicted if he steps foot in America. On top of being a rapist, he’s a pedophile and child rapist. If Portman was so affected as a child by her being sexually objectified then how could she ever pardon or forgive a child rapist? This is why Portman isn’t a feminist or an activist, she’s a performer who’s doing her job to forward Hollywoods faux progressive agenda.

Scarlett, Natalie, I would like MY pin back because you two are undeserving of them.
