I have always found that summer is the perfect season to switch it up. Warmer weather pushes me to step outside of my comfort zone with my style and my way of thinking. Summer fashion allows you to have the most versatility, so you can finally let those outfits you pinned on Pinterest come to life. Summer itself allows you to soak up the warm fuzziness that the world has to offer and appreciate how good it feels to be alive. I am here to give you my favorite tips on elevating your look this summer by letting out the fashion queen that has been dying to see the light and opening your eyes to the endless possibilities of self-improvement.
Style
My first tip when it comes to advancing your summer style is getting the right inspiration. Anytime someone brings up fashion inspiration, I can not help but mention Pinterest because it is my absolute favorite way to stimulate my fashion senses. Just searching for a brand or a person with a style you admire gives you a plethora of new ideas. When it comes to online inspiration, Pinterest is the way to go.
Secondly, bold jewels are huge for me right now, and I feel like they give any outfit the proper amount of glam. Layered necklaces, chunky earrings, and rings on every finger are guaranteed to make you feel like THAT bitch.
Last but not least, I love a good platform shoe because I’m quite short and they make my legs feel longer. Shoes that elevate me physically tend to elevate me mentally as well, so I suggest finding adaptable shoes that have the same effect on you. I wholeheartedly believe that shoes can make you feel a more intense awareness of your confidence if you really like them.
Self-Improvement
If you think self-help books are not helpful, you have probably never read one. I have been reading You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero, and it is incredible. Life is always about constantly improving yourself and Sincero does a beautiful job of opening your mind to new ways of loving yourself. I guarantee that you can find some sort of wisdom to benefit you in your everyday life in this book. I’m listening to the audiobook that is read by Sincero herself, and it makes the reading experience feel like a personal conversation about improving your life. If You Are A Badass isn’t your cup of tea, there is a profusion of literature that can make you more mentally comfortable.
I also wanted to mention bullet journalism. Bullet journalism is a new hobby that I have acquired in the past couple of months, and it is revolutionary. If you are into creativity and also need to be more organized, starting a bullet journal is perfect. I typically do weekly spreads full of motivation and lists that aren’t always as beautiful as I want them to be, but it has done wonders when it comes to making me feel more prepared for the week. There is no right way or wrong way to bullet journal, but I love watching Amanda Rach Lee’s YouTube videos about bullet journalism to get inspiration.
Summer is my favorite time to focus on improving myself, so I wanted to share that motivation with you guys. Always remember that you can never stop improving!
