After much teasing, many rumors and a lot of secret show announcements, Panic! at the Disco has officially announced the release of their newest studio album, Pray for the Wicked.
The full 11-track album comes out June 22, but tracks “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” and “(Fuck A) Silver Lining” have already been released. “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” has a very Panic!-style music video, which can be watched below. The video has already reached thousands of views, and the song itself quickly became BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record of the Day and No. 1 on Apple Music’s Alternative A-List.
The new songs feel more similar to the band’s more recent work, as opposed to their older stuff, but they don’t fail to please fans.
Lyrics and composition backed with a prodigious use of instruments and Urie’s vocals make for enjoyable songs you’ll want to listen to on repeat. “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” features darker songwriting, regarding lyrics and arrangement, with an intense chorus, laid-back verses and an astounding high-note that reassures anyone doubtful that Urie once again brought his all to the new music.
“(Fuck A) Silver Lining” embraces the same strong instrument use and vocals, but brings a more optimistic vibe with the high-tempo and lyrics expressing aiming for the best. Overall, the two released songs suggest a slightly different vibe for the new album, but seem to bring the same elements of Panic! that keep constant and keep the music great.
If the new songs and album announcement weren’t enough, the band also announced dates and cities for their upcoming 2018 North America Arena Tour, which will take place this July-August and will feature support from artists A R I Z O N A and Hayley Kiyoko.
Information regarding pre-sale tickets and general sale tickets for the tour can be found on the official Panic! website, and you can preorder Pray for the Wicked here.
