By now seeing superhero this and superhero that is common place when you switch on your TV. We barely bat an eye at the giant monsters rampaging – but have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes? How are normal people (us) coping in this terrifying world of daily death battles and explosions? Well, the TV show Powerless, currently airing on NBC, aims to do just that.
Forget the whole Marvel vs. DC battle for a minute. If you’re a hardcore Marvel fan, you’re not “betraying” your fandom by reading this article. Yes, Powerless is DC, but it’s so good that it shouldn’t really matter. Unlike all of the other superhero shows that are currently being produced, the ones that try to be dark and gritty (yes even the DC ones), this one takes on more of a campy approach.
The shows themselves only last around 20 minutes, so it’s perfect for binge watching as well as giving you a break from those 45+ minute chunks of HBO or the CW. Sometimes it’s just nice to be able to laugh.

Isn’t that just gorgeous? I admit it, more often than not I’ll ignore the opening credits completely, they’re either too basic or too slow. But this? I could definitely watch this while binge watching without getting bored too quickly.
5. It’s feminist as hell.

The story focuses on Emily, the new boss of a Wayne Security division. What I love about her character is not only is she an amazing leader, but she also has her own personality other than “winning”. She’s able to be a little bit kooky, innocent and sweet without taking away from her ability to be a #girlboss.
6. Ethnicity wise, it’s super inclusive.
